How an Appeal Works
In a mesothelioma lawsuit, there are times when a verdict will be sent to a higher court for review. This higher court is known as the court of appeals. Asbestos companies sometimes appeal cases in an attempt to either reduce the amount of the mesothelioma verdict or have it totally thrown out so that the company does not have to pay it.
