Biography

Lance Pool’s dream of helping people through the practice of law began when he was a child in Liberal, Kansas. As he observed the small town’s  local lawyer handling the potpourri of cases that came his way, Lance instinctively knew that  “lawyering” was a powerful way to make things right.

Lance’s resolve to pursue law was further strengthened when he clerked for the Kansas Attorney General’s office during his last two years of law school. This experience, once again, gave Lance a front row seat from which to observe the myriad of ways that lawyers can and do help people from all walks of life.

That firm resolve, rooted in childhood memories, grew as Lance amassed two decades of  legal and business experiences,  first as vice president and general counsel for a subsidiary of American Financial Group and later as chief executive officer for Celotex Trust. These two decades not only gave Lance a venue for the practice of law but also unique insight into the management and administration of organizations  -- invaluable  skills that he uses today as executive director of Baron & Budd.

As the firm’s executive director, Lance offers clients and staff alike his unique expertise which blends the worlds of law and business. It is a position that suits Lance because it provides the a larger venue upon which to achieve his ultimate goal of helping people.

“I have always known that I wanted to do something that would bring meaning to people’s lives” said Lance. “I always thought I would do so on an individual basis, but as the guy on the front line of Baron & Budd  I get to shape the way we help thousands of people. I couldn’t  be in a better place to live out my personal mission and use my expertise.”

Lance’s passion for helping people extends to the Boy Scouts of America where  he indulges his love of the outdoors as  an active volunteer and also serves in many leadership roles.

Lance is also an active husband and father, participating in many community church and school activities.
