Jody Anderman

Attorney at Law

Biography

Jody Anderman is based in Baron & Budd's Baton Rouge, Louisiana office. He started his legal career in 1988 and earned valuable experience at one of Baton Rouge’s largest defense firms, but Jody knew early on that his heart was leading him to represent injured workers, victims of corporate fraud and others who had suffered significant losses. He realized his dream in 1992 when he joined a plaintiff's firm and began representing people who had been injured in accidents. In 1997, Jody joined the Baton Rouge-based law firm LeBlanc Waddell, where the focus of his practice was representing injured workers and victims of consumer fraud.

Jody was appointed lead counsel in several national class actions filed against insurance companies involving “vanishing premium” life insurance policies. The insurers had represented that monthly premiums would vanish after a certain number of years, and when those promises proved false, Jody was instrumental in negotiating fair compensation for the policyholders.

Jody has also been involved in the investigation and litigation of several environmental toxic tort actions on behalf of individuals exposed to toxic chemicals or hazardous waste. In one case, Jody and other members of the firm represented over 3,200 residents of a neighborhood who were exposed to creosote that emanated from a nearby wood treatment facility.

Since 2002, Jody has been dedicated himself entirely to representing mesothelioma victims and others injured by asbestos exposure.
