Biography

Jed Borghei has always been interested in issues of social justice. After earning a master’s degree in philosophy, he became a lawyer because it gives him the practical ability to work for social justice in a way that can change people’s lives. Jed’s practice focuses on helping people who have developed mesothelioma as a result of asbestos exposure.

Baron & Budd was a perfect fit for Jed because he wanted to practice law at “a firm where I can directly help individuals who have been profoundly harmed and, more generally, where I can help ensure that corporate citizens are more responsive to the health and welfare of their employees, customers, and the general public.”

As a student at Georgetown University Law Center, Jed stood out, graduating magna cum laude. He was elected to membership in the Order of the Coif, the national law school honor society for the encouragement of scholarship and advancement of ethical standards in the legal profession. Jed also served as Submissions Editor for the Georgetown Journal of Law and Public Policy. .

Jed, a native of Santa Monica, California, has combined his love of surfing and travel by surfing the waves of four continents: North America (in the United States and Mexico), South America (in Ecuador), Asia (in Indonesia), and Europe (in France).
