Biography

Charles Soechting demonstrated his zeal for advocacy early in his legal career.  As a law student at South Texas College of Law – a law school known for producing lawyers with well-honed courtroom skills – Charles was named National Champion of the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition and was awarded the Regional and National Best Brief. For these accomplishments, he was inducted into the prestigious National Order of Barristers in 2005.

Behind Charles’ drive to serve as an effective advocate is his desire to devote his legal career to the benefit of society.  “To be part of the force that continues to shape and craft the future of our legal system is an incredible responsibility and opportunity,” he notes.  “And the practice of law enables me to help those who feel unable to help themselves, which is very fulfilling,” he adds.

Charles is today an attorney with Baron & Budd’s asbestos litigation group, representing people with mesothelioma caused by exposure to asbestos. Previously, Charles was a member of Baron & Budd’s water contamination litigation team, representing communities and individuals facing environmental contamination caused by pollutants such as MTBE. “This firm has made its foremost purpose to take on those corporations that attempt to act above the law without concerns for those that are harmed,” he says of his reasons for joining the firm.  With his personal goals and the mission of the firm so well-aligned, Charles is poised to achieve his career objectives in the years to come.
