Biography

When graduating from college, Brooke Cohen’s first ambition was to work for an organization that helped women and children in need. With this goal in mind, she started her career at a nonprofit organization, then moved to Washington, D.C. to work on Capitol Hill, and finally joined a lobbying firm in the nation’s capitol. All of these choices were motivated by her desire to assist people, and she soon realized a law degree would only enhance her ability to help others.

As an attorney Brooke found that, to be effective in counselling her clients, she had to get to know them, to understand the challenges they faced and their goals in dealing with them. She discovered that getting to know her clients was very rewarding for her as well and helped her appreciate the tangible difference she could make in their lives.

Given Brooke’s desire to help individual people in a meaningful way, she discovered that Baron & Budd was the ideal place for her to practice law. “I was so happy to discover that the people who work at the firm believe in what they are doing, feel good about it, and put their all into each workday,” Brooke says. “When I saw the level of commitment and compassion the attorneys and staff here for clients and their families, I knew I wanted to join the firm.”

Brooke is an attorney in Baron & Budd’s settlement department. She works to resolve cases on behalf of victims of asbestos and other toxic exposures. She also handles asbestos victims’ claims for compensation from bankruptcy trust funds. Through her work, Brooke gets to know and help many clients.

When Brooke isn’t in the office working for her clients, she enjoys spending time with her two children. She loves to write about her children and their day to day adventures. Brooke also enjoys running for both exercise and sport and exploring the arts.
